Happy New Year! $78M+ was raised across 14 funding rounds in Web3. Will keep this edition short and sweet. With the holidays in full swing, this week showcased an uneventful, yet diverse mix of dealflow marking the conclusion of funding for Web3 in 2023. Miners and base protocols (i.e., Layers 1 & 2) emerged as the leading categories in what was a relatively quiet week.

Overall, 2023 was a year of recalibration and maturation for the industry. We moved closer to greater regulatory clarity, and the pace of technological innovation remained strong. The fact that over $12 billion was raised this year is a significant achievement, especially considering the turmoil and challenges faced at the beginning of the year. I am certainly excited to see what 2024 brings for us!
